A 75-YEAR-OLD man is on trial at Bradford Crown Court accused of 26 historic sex offences.
Retired coach driver Malcolm Carney, of Langlands Road, Cottingley, near Bingley, denies eight allegations of rape and 18 of indecent assault, dating back to 1978.
Prosecutor Adrian Dent told the jury yesterday that the case involved two girls, now women in their forties.
Mr Dent said they complained to the police last year that Carney had sexually abused them on numerous occasions.
He is alleged to have offered one of the women £2,000 not to marry someone else.
Carney told the police he was entirely innocent of the accusations, saying the women had invented them.
The Recorder of Bradford, Judge Roger Thomas QC, told the jury Carney suffered from angina and would need frequent breaks throughout the hearing.
The trial continues.
