ACTION is being taken to end heavy lorry misery plaguing the residents of a Keighley village.
Keighley Area Committee will soon be asked to impose a ban on heavy goods vehicles using Laycock as a through-route.
And ward councillors are spearheading negotiations to find an alternative route for other lorries, who are legally allowed to use Laycock to reach nearby farmland.
Councillor Jan Smithies (Lab, Keighley West) said efforts were being made to tackle residents’ concerns and she and fellow Keighley West ward Councillor Adrian Farley (Lab) are holding a meeting in Laycock Village Hall tomorrow from 7.30pm to update them.
