Bradford firefighters used their rescue skills to help a young bird which was at risk before even leaving the nest. The fledgling became caught in a nylon line which had been used in the nest construction, on a drainpipe at the Bradford College Lister Building on Carlton Street, Great Horton. Students spotted the stricken bird and the RSPCA called in firefighters, who provided a ladder to allow an inspector to retrieve the bird.
