An Ilkley motorcyclist who died in a motorway crash in Gloucestershire has been named at an inquest into his death this afternoon.
Syed Amir Shah, 57, of Parish Ghyll Lane, Ilkley, was riding a yellow BMW motorbike involved in a collision with a blue Ford Mondeo on the M5 at around 6.50pm on Sunday.
The incident occurred on the southbound section of the motorway close to junction 11, near Gloucester and Cheltenham.
A spokesman for Gloucestershire Coroner’s Court said: “Mr Shah was riding his motorbike southbound on the M5 in lane three, when he apparently swerved into lane two and collided with the rear of a motor car travelling in the same direction.”
Mr Shah was declared dead at the scene, with the cause of death listed as “multiple injuries.”
The driver of the Mondeo, a Gloucestershire woman, was uninjured in the crash.
