A 16-year-old boy is being treated for a serious head injury after a car crashed into a lampost yesterday morning.
Fire crews from Odsal and Cleckheaton removed the roof of a car to get people out following the accident, which happened on Bradford Road, Oakenshaw, at around 12.48am.
A white Audi A5 crashed into a street light and road signs, spun and came to a stop against the gates of St Andrews Church.
The teenager is being treated at Leeds General Infirmary. A 22-year-old man was also taken to hospital but later discharged.
Crew Commander Neil Harrison, of Odsal Fire Station, said: “It had a severe impact. We extricated the two passengers after the roof of the car was removed.
“The car ended up against the gates of St Andrews Church, near the Richardsons Arms pub. They had lost control.”
