A new beer has been created to celebrate the arrival of Le Tour de France to Yorkshire.
Saltaire Brewery and Dark Star Brewing Company, based in Sussex, have joined forces for the second time this year with a collaboration brew.
Le IPA has been invented to mark the world’s greatest cycle race arriving in the region next month.
The IPA-style beer is described as having a good body and strong malt presence.
To kick start the Le Tour weekend activities, Saltaire and Dark Star Brewing Company are to team up to host Le Grand Depart Beer Club on July 4 at Saltaire Brewery, where Le IPA will be officially launched.
There will also be a wide array of beers from other Yorkshire breweries at the Beer Club.
Saltaire’s sales director Ewen Gordon said: “To truly embrace the desire to cycle we will be offering the opportunity for a free pint and entry into a prize draw for anyone turning up to this special Beer Club with their bike and full Lycra cycling kit on.
“This definitely will be a Beer Club to remember!”
