Two men were taken to hospital after crashing into a street light outside an Oakenshaw pub this morning.
Fire crews from Odsal and Cleckheaton removed the roof of the car after the driver “lost control” on Bradford Road at around 12.48am.
The white Audi A5 crashed into a street light and road signs, spun and came to a stop against the gates of St Andrew’s Church.
The two passengers were taken to hospital.
Crew Commander Neil Harrison, of Odsal Fire Station, said: “It had a severe impact. We extricated the two passengers after the roof of the car was removed.
“The car ended up against the gates of St Andrew’s Church, near The Richardsons Arms pub. They had lost control.
“I don’t know what their injuries were but they looked pretty much okay. No other car was involved.
“Police believe the car had four occupants but two left the scene before we arrived.”
