It could be weeks before residents are able to return to a sheltered housing complex in Bradford that was hit by fire.
Hanover Housing said all the people who live at Dove Court in Barkerend had been found suitable accommodation in the meantime.
The fire on Monday morning is believed to have started by an electrical fault.
A spokesman for Hanover, which runs the complex on behalf of Bradford Council, said: “Investigations are continuing but the fire appears to have started in an electrical intake cupboard, and was contained effectively by fire walls and other barriers.
“However, there appears to be quite significant damage to the roof and to the lift in the building, as well as water damage. We will know more in the next few days but are anticipating that it will be some weeks before residents can return to the building.”
The spokesman said the building is secure and that there is 24-hour security on site, adding: “We have been liaising closely with residents and their families and will keep them informed.”
