St John Ambulance is using National Volunteers’ Week as a springboard to encourage more people to give up a few hours a week to support the charity’s work.
The first-aid organisation, which operates across the Yorkshire region, has an urgent need for adult volunteers who can help with its evening meetings for those in the five-to-18 age bracket.
Meetings are used to teach first aid and other life skills.
Vacancies exist for youth leaders, support leaders and helpers to work with the youngest children. No first aid knowledge is needed.
More information about youth work volunteering is at sja.org.uk/volunteering or (01924) 262726, option 4 or e-mail north-east-hr@sja.org.uk or Twitter @stjohnambulance
