Police are hunting for an arsonist who might have singed their hair or eyebrows after starting a car fire in Bradford.
Officers said some sort of accelerant was used to set a Seat Alhambra ablaze in a garage in Bolton Road.
The fire happened at about 3.20am on Saturday after the garage was broken into. The car was destroyed by the fire and the garage was badly damaged.
Detective Inspector Stuart Lyons (above), of Bradford District CID, said: “Enquiries have established that some sort of accelerant was used. This means the fire would have taken hold very quickly, and it is possible that the person responsible might have singed their hair or eyebrows.”
Police would like to speak to a man who was seen in the area at the time wearing grey jogging bottoms and a grey jumper.
He was also believed to be wearing a blue or dark grey body warmer, black gloves and dark-coloured trainers.
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC 5948 Edwards on 101.
