A disabled sports organisation in Bradford desperately needs more volunteer drivers – and one woman has donned a sandwich board to spread the message.
Sue Brook, who is transport manager at Bradford Disability Sport and Leisure (BDSL), took to the streets for the unusual advertising campaign yesterday.
BDSL runs three fully-adapted minibuses and needs volunteer drivers and escorts to help the organisation continue to deliver the work it does across the district.
Barry Thorne, fundraising officer at BDSL, said they carry nearly 10,000 passengers a year. He said: “The issue of us needing more volunteer drivers and escorts is becoming critical.
“We are having to turn people away because the demand is extremely high.”
Sue added: “I am willing to go around with a sandwich board if that would help!”
