A man aged in his 20s was found dead following a blaze at a house near Brighouse.
He was found by firefighters in one of the rooms at a semi-detached property in Waverley Crescent, Hipperholme.
Fire crews, who were called at about 1.40pm on Sunday, said the house was badly damaged by the blaze.
Police were notified of the death but have since said there were not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
Detective Inspector Gary Stephenson, of Calderdale police, said: “At 1.38pm on Sunday June 1, police and the fire service attended an address on Waverley Crescent, Halifax, following reports of a house fire.
“The body of a local man aged in his 20s was recovered from the property.”
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The cause of the fire remains under investigation, however, it is believed to be accidental.”
