A motorcyclist from Ilkley died in a motorway crash in Gloucestershire yesterday.
The 57-year-old was riding a yellow BMW motorbike when it collided with a blue Ford Mondeo on the M5, near Gloucester and Cheltenham.
It happened on the southbound stretch, between junctions 10 and 11, at about 6.50pm.
The man’s next-of-kin and the coroner have been informed of his death.
The driver of the Mondeo, a Gloucestershire woman, was uninjured in the crash.
The road was closed for several hours after the collision while police investigated.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the motorbike travelling along the motorway prior to the collision is asked to call police on 101, and quote incident 422 of June 1.
