Anticipation and excitement intensified ahead of the Tour de France when one of the world’s most recognisable cyclists made an appearance at an iconic location in the district.
Onlookers watched from their houses and shops as reigning Tour champion Chris Froome climbed the cobbled hill at Haworth during a test ride on Saturday.
Froome rode alongside team mate Richie Porte as the Team Sky riders cycled up Main Street while looking at the route for Stage 2 of the Tour de France between York and Sheffield on Sunday, July 6.
Froome is preparing to defend his title in the famous race and, earlier in the day, he took time out from his busy schedule to sign autographs for youngsters in Harrogate.
