Bradford-based Morrisons will learn this week whether it makes and sells England’s best burger.
The supermarket is in the running for the accolade after being named winner of the multiple retailer category in a national burger competition.
Morrisons won the award with its Ultimate Brisket Burger and is competing against three other category winners to become overall winner in the biannual competition organised by industry body Eblex. The result will be announced on Wednesday at the Meat Management Awards in London.
Simon Kelly, Morrisons lead factory developer, said: “We’re really proud of our M Signature Ultimate Brisket Burger. We developed it using mince from a single muscle, brisket, which gives it a different quality taste and texture to standard burgers. We then simply season it, to allow the quality of the meat to shine through."
