Children have painted pictures of themselves to mark an extension being built at their school.
Ashlands Primary School in Ilkley has been expanded to two- form entry and every child is creating a self portrait to be displayed in the building’s entrance.
The painting has the new school motto – Ashlands, where every child has the chance to shine – written above it.
The picture has been made possible through the volunteering of a number of parents and in particular Leigh East, who has given up a number of afternoons to get the project running.
Head teacher Andrew Soutar said: “I wanted every child to get a chance to leave their own picture in school.
“It will bring a smile to all our visitors’ faces in years to come.”
