Armed police searching for a crime suspect swooped on an address in Bradford yesterday but apparently failed to find their target.
A convoy of around ten police vehicles, including firearms officers and dogs, arrived at a flat in Emm Lane, Heaton, at about 1pm.
Although the address was occupied, the man police wanted to trace was not present. The occupant told onlookers that he had been “shocked” by the police activity.
During the operation, the area around Emm Lane was cordoned off.
An eyewitness told the Telegraph & Argus: “Police were directing people away from the scene, telling them not to go anywhere near.
“After a while they re-opened the road and a few minutes later they all left.”
West Yorkshire Police declined to go into detail about the situation, but confirmed they were looking for people who had potentially been involved in serious crime.
