A charity evening at Oakworth coined in more than £3,000.
The cash is being split between Manorlands hospice and Cancer Research.
Proceeds from the ‘Party for Sue’ – at Branshaw Golf Club – were boosted by a head shave by the organiser, Lynne Wilson.
The pharmacy technician staged the event in memory of a friend of 40 years, Sue Hardacre, who died from cancer in January.
“We had a great night and it was a fitting tribute to Sue,” she said.
“I shaved Sue’s head when she was having chemotherapy and said then I would have mine shaved too.
“I would like to thank everyone who sponsored me and those who attended on the night, and local businesses which donated items. I’m really pleased with the amount raised.”
Donations can still be made by calling 07988 817267.
