This summer’s Oxenhope Straw Race will have a new start point.
Competitors will set off from outside the railway station in Station Road.
A spokesman for the race thanked the railway for the support it has provided this year. Race entrants will be offered free transport on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway on race day, Sunday, July 13.
For years, the race has begun from the Waggon and Horses Inn, in Hebden Bridge Road. However, earlier this year the pub closed and was put on the market.
The organisers vowed to continue with the race, but the pub’s closure led to weeks of uncertainty as to where the popular fundraising challenge would begin.
This year’s straw race will take place a week later than usual to avoid a clash with the Tour de France. The 2013 event raised more than £9,000 for good causes.
