Residents in communities across Bradford have signed up to a scheme aimed at reducing numbers of ‘cold callers’ operating in their neighbourhoods.
Police are working with trading standards officers and other partners in an attempt to make it more difficult for ‘cold callers’ to succeed.
They are people who make unsolicited visits to residents homes, offering goods or services which have not been requested.
Often, cold calling is linked to crime and specifically distraction burglaries.
Communities in Bradford which have taken up the offer of a control zone include Addingham, Bierley, Burley in Wharfedale, Buttershaw, East Bowling, Eccleshill, Frizinghall, Great Horton, Holme Wood, Thackley and Thornbury.
