Teenagers across Bradford are being given the chance to take part in a series of adventurous summer events designed to help prepare them for the adult world.
The National Citizen Service placements are available at a knockdown price, with a cost of £50 paying for services which cost £1,300 to provide.
NCS is the Government’s scheme to help with the social and personal development of those in the 16 to 17 age group, and allows those involved to get away from home, staying in halls of residence at local universities.
Team building activities include canoeing and abseiling, which are supported by professionally trained staff and mentors.
Youngsters then spend time back in their community, developing skills to come up with a 30 hour community programme. ege and university.
