The inspector in charge of the neighbourhood policing team covering Brighouse says there are “really positive” signs in terms of recorded crime in his area.
Inspector David Shaw, who leads the Lower Valley Neighbourhood policing team, said: “The Valley has had a fantastic start to the police performance year in relation to recorded crime.
“The police performance year starts on April 1 and I am happy to say that in the first full month crime has dropped in comparison to the same period last year”.
He said overall crime was down by 83 offences to 371. House burglaries were down by 24 offences to 20, with violent crime down 24 offences to 50.
Criminal damage had reduced by 41 offences to 67.
