Two university lecturers will be reading their poetry at Monday’s meeting of the Beehive Poets.
Julia Deakin teaches at the University of Bradford. Widely published, she has won several prizes and featured twice on Radio 4’s Poetry Please.
Her collections include The Half-Mile-High Club (a Poetry Business competition winner), Without a Dog (Graft 2008), and Eleven Wonders (Graft 2012).
Anne Caldwell lectures at the University of Bolton and is based in Hebden Bridge. Her award-winning collection of poetry is called Talking With The Dead, Cinnamon Press (2011) and she has also just produced an artist’s book based on Berlin and Aberdeen called ‘After Image’ with designer Jack Wright.
The two readings will be followed by an open read-round.
The event at the New Beehive Inn in Westgate, Bradford. Admission is by £3 voluntary donation.
