Are you a young man with a passion for theatre?
If so, Ilkley Playhouse would like to hear from you. The society is staging Alan Bennett’s The History Boys next year and needs eight young men to join the cast. A workshop is taking place on Wednesday Described as funny, touching and thought-provoking, the play is about a group of post A-level students in the 1980s preparing for the Oxbridge entrance exam.
“We need eight men who can look 17 to 19-years-old on stage. There is no upper age limit, but actors need to be a minimum of 16 by the end of 2014,” says director Miranda Armitage.
“The boys' characters range from the comic to the tragic, and the production will be an enjoyable opportunity for young actors to develop their skills and work together on an ensemble piece.”
Miranda will lead workshop at Ilkley Playhouse on Wednesday at 7pm. Those auditioning are asked to wear something resembling school uniform.
