A woman was trapped in her car after it was in a crash with a lorry in Bradford city centre.
Witnesses said the lorry was travelling down Godwin Street and the dark blue Vauxhall Astra was coming up Sunbridge Road when the collision took place at the crossroads where the two roads meet at about 1.55pm yesterday. Police and ambulance crews attended the scene, which caused traffic problems at the junction. The Astra driver was fitted with a neck brace at the scene. Catherine Newsome rushed out of Your Move estate agents on Godwin Street to take care of the driver of the car. She said: “I didn’t hear a bang but saw that the wagon and car had collided.
“I went straight over to the lady in the car and asked if she was okay. She started crying and shaking. The accident caused chaos.” Police cordoned off Sunbridge Road and Godwin Street after the woman driver of the car initially became trapped in her vehicle.
