A Yorkshire surgeon has been appointed to the role of executive medical director at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.
Karl Mainprize, who takes up his post on Tuesday, June 3, was formerly deputy medical director at York Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
His role, in addition to being a member of the board, will be as the trust lead for quality and safety, and clinical and information governance, ensuring patient safety, care and experience is a priority.
Mr Mainprize will also be responsible for providing professional leadership for clinical staff and managing medical education and training, as well as developing external relationships with commissioners and regulators, such as the Care Quality Commission.
Mr Mainprize, who will be based at Airedale Hospital, said: “I am delighted with my new appointment and I am looking forward to working closely with my new colleagues to enhance the services Airedale provides.
“I am interested in developing technology to improve communication with patients.”
