This year’s Bingley Music Live will be more accessible to those with physical challenges than ever before, thanks to a raft of measures which may include sign language on the main stage to ensure equal enjoyment.
The event, now in its eighth year, has already been given a ‘bronze standard’ by the charity Attitude is Everything, which promotes a charter of best practice for accessiblity at musice venues and festivals.
It is now hoping to enhance these facilities to achieve the Silver standard with this year’s improvements.
So far, BML's facilities include: a trained buddy service to help people get around the event; disabled viewing areas at both stages; dedicated entrance for people with disabilities; and accessible car parking in close proximity to the venue. But further amenities are being planned to make the event even more inclusive.
