A team of fundraisers selling knitted novelties in shops and schools across Bradford have raised a record total for cancer research this year. The 30-strong team, who have supported Cancer Research UK in Bradford for more than 15 years, raised £1,910, their best ever total. The volunteers spend all year knitting chicks and rabbits to sell at Easter and then deliver them to shops and schools from their base in Wrose.
“They are an amazing group of supporters,” said Andy Jackson, Bradford coordinator for Cancer Research UK. “As well as knitting and selling the Easter novelties, they also hold a stall at St Luke's hospital a number of times a year.”
