Staff and regulars at the Dickie Bird pub in Long Lee have presented £900 to Sue Ryder Care.
Funds were raised during the pub’s Tuesday night bingo evenings over the past year.
This has been added to the Dicky Bird’s Bonus Ball game and proceeds of other one-off fundraising events.
Sue Ryder regional fundraiser Andrew Wood was presented with the donation, and thanked the pub for their support.
He promised that, at the request of the pub’s regulars and staff, the money would go to Sue Ryder’s Wheatfields Hospice in Leeds.
The loved one of a regular had been cared for there.
Andrew added:, “This is a thriving pub with lots going on and landlord and landlady, Colin and Bev Cooney, and their customers support Sue Ryder in lots of ways throughout the year.”
