Police are hunting for a hit-and-run driver who left a teenage cyclist badly injured in the road.
The 17-year-old boy had to be treated in hospital for facial, arm and hand injuries after being hit by the car near Yeadon on Monday just after 5pm at the junction of Otley Old Road and Tinshill Road.
Police believe the car was a white or silver Nissan Micra being driven by a woman, and have now appealed for her to turn herself in.
The vehicle, which had been travelling towards Yeadon, turned from Otley Old Road into Tinshill Road and collided with the cyclist.
The driver is then believed to have driven away from the scene down Tinshill Road.
Chief Inspector Fran Naughton, of Leeds District CID, said: “The driver of the vehicle needs to be traced as a matter of urgency.”
Anyone with information should contact Outer North West Leeds Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
