An open forum this Saturday will debate the future of rail services on the Airedale line.
The forum will follow the annual general meeting of Aire Valley Rail Users Group, at Saltaire Methodist Church, at 2pm.
“Consultations are about to start over the future of the next Northern franchise – this is a vital time to influence plans as the government struggles to balance the demands for investment and cost saving,” said group chairman, Tim Calow.
“In Airedale, action is required to manage the ever-increasing demand for rail travel and investment is needed to support the growth of the local economy. We look forward to a lively debate about the shape of future rail services.”
