Bradford Council is backing a regional campaign to get more people fostering.
People living in West Yorkshire can find out more about foster caring at two information events to be held in Leeds and Ainley Top during Foster Care Fortnight, which runs from May 12 to 25.
The informal drop-in events, which are being hosted by joint council-led initiative Foster4Yorkshire, are open to anyone who is interested in foster caring.
Paul Johnson, from Foster4Yorkshire, said: “The number of children coming into foster care in West Yorkshire has risen in recent years to around 2,100. We now urgently need 235 new foster families during 2014/15 to help meet the needs of children and young people in our care.
The events are on Sunday, May 18, from noon at Village Urban Resort Leeds, Capitol Boulevard, Tingley; and on Wednesday, May 21, from 4pm at the Cedar Court Hotel Huddersfield, Ainley Top.
