A nine-year-old schoolboy has come up with a hair-raising plan to raise money for a children’s cancer charity.

Nathan Gill hopes to raise £200 for Clic Sargent by having his locks lopped.

The Russell Hall Primary School pupil, from Queensbury, is hoping school friends will sponsor him and so far has £60 pledged.

His curly brown locks, which are known as his trademark, will be cut on May 30 at his local barbers.

Mum Vicki said her son came up with the charitable idea after deciding he needed a haircut and wanted to help others.

Some of the money will also be given to Little Princess Trust, an organisation that specialises in providing real-hair wigs to boys and girls across the UK that have lost their own through cancer treatment.
