A 16th century woodland cast its spell over visitors at the recent open day.
Local families were able to explore The Wilderness – formerly the garden of Skipton’s first Grammar School, Ermysted’s – and took part in a variety of activities, including making bird and bat boxes, pond-dipping and a bug safari.
The area is maintained by a Friends group and anyone who would like to help should contact Les Chandler on 01756 700553 or e-mail les@skiptontowncouncil.gov.uk.
