A Bradford doctor has retired after giving almost three decades of medical care to patients at Kensington Street Health Centre.
Dr Valerie Wilson joined the practice 29 years ago and retired last week with Bradford Mayor Khadim Hussain giving a presentation.
The Ayr-born grandmother-of-three plans to spend more time with her family and friends in her native Scotland. But she will also work as a locum at the Whitefield Place practice on an occasional basis.
The 62-year-old was also chairman of the Bradford City Clinical Commissioning Group for a year until March.
Dr Wilson said: “I have seen a lot of changes over the years.
“There has been a lot of shift in services from hospitals. The demand is more, we have always been busy.
“It’s very demanding but I have enjoyed it.”
