More than 150 people went along to a park in Idle to take part in a ‘picnic protest’ against a new housing development.
David Ward, the MP for Bradford East, and Councillor Jeanette Sunderland (Lib Dem, Idle and Thackley), were among those protesting against plans to build 270 homes on a greenfield site beside Leeds Road, Thackley.
Mr Ward said children and families enjoyed the sunshine at Idle Recreation Ground, Cross Road, Idle, while people also took the opportunity to sign a petition against the Persimmon Homes development.
