Would-be sailors are being invited to try out the sport for themselves in an open day at Yeadon Tarn this month.
Yeadon Sailing Club will give visitors the chance to try out ‘one of the most thrilling sports there is’ at the event from 10.30am to 2pm, on May 17.
A spokesman said: “The open day is part of our wider training programme, which takes people from being absolute beginners to confident sailors, racing and sailing here and at other clubs in Britain and abroad.
“Sailing is one of Britain’s most successful Olympic sports, with Gold medal winner Paul Goodison sailing at a club near Rotherham. Yeadon Sailing Club boasts its own International Junior Champions, and Yeadon youth sailors are actively involved in the national programmes run by the Royal Yachting Association to train the next generation of champions.”
