Police cordoned roads off by the former Odeon cinema in Bradfordlast night after a man got on to the roof and started hurling tiles on to the street below.
Officers were called to the scene at about 9.30pm when the man was spotted on the roof.
Road blocks have been set up on Prince’s Way, Thornton Road and Godwin Street, and led to onlookers gathering in City Park.
One witness reported the man was throwing roof tiles at police officers.
A police spokesman said: “The man had obviously been causing some concern, leading to the building being blocked off. He has thrown some slates down and caused minor damage to some vehicles in the area.”
The man came down safely of his own accord, just after 11pm.
