A tour of Bradford’s movie hot spots through the eyes of a film locations manager will take place in the city centre this month.
Organised by the Bradford City of Film team, the tour will take in locations such as City Hall, where Billy Liar and Room at the Top were partly filmed, and Bradford Club, where scenes for TV drama the Great Train Robbery were shot.

The March 29 tour will be led by Bradford City of Film director David Wilson and locations manager Jonathan Davies, who has worked on Bafta-nominated film The Selfish Giant, set and filmed in Bradford, and TV dramas also shot locally, such as DCI Banks, Red Riding and The Royal.
Mr Davies will talk about his work, and how he goes about seeking locations for contemporary and period dramas.
“We will be taking groups of about 20 people out on two tours of the city centre, providing the chance to see film locations through the eyes of a locations manager,” said City of Film director David Wilson.
Locations include the Victorian courtroom at City Hall, where TV dramas such as Coronation Street, Emmerdale, South Riding, Inspector Frost, and Brides in the Bath have been filmed, City Park, the setting for scenes in DCI Banks and The Syndicate, Bradford Club, Little Germany, and the Billy Liar plaque in Southgate.
“The beauty of Bradford is that a lot of its buildings have remained unchanged, especially in places like Little Germany. That makes it very attractive to film-makers,” said Mr Wilson.
A City of Film interactive app, enabling film fans to access locations on their mobile phones, is expected to be up-and-running by September.
