An Otley councillor is calling for action to improve safety on the town’s busier roads.
Town Councillor Carl Morris (Lab, Manor), Labour’s candidate for the Otley & Yeadon ward in this year’s Leeds City Council elections, would like to see the local authority take on two new schemes.
The first would introduce a new pedestrian crossing along Burras Lane, since there is currently “no crossing point along this entire stretch of fast road, making it dangerous for pedestrians to cross to Waitrose and the bus stop.”
Coun Morris also believes more 30mph signs are needed along the A6038 Bradford Road.
