Women will be united in Bradford for the good of their health as part of the celebrations for International Women’s Day.
The charity Womenzone, based in Hubert Street, is hosting a series of healthy lifestyle-related events from noon until 3pm next Saturday to coincide with the annual global celebration to inspire women and celebrate their achievements.
Womenzone’s event aims to unite the city’s diverse communities, bringing together women and families from communities including Eastern European; Bengali; Pakistani; Indian and English.
Themed around healthy living, the event focuses on improving health and involves local women sharing their experiences on issues such as losing weight and making positive changes to their lives, including Lubna Khalid – Bradford’s Beating Diabetes champion – who transformed her life from years of dialysis to a kidney transplant.
