Motorists who use the NCP car park in Hall Ings should find it easier to find their vehicles in future as the multi-storey in Bradford city centre is the latest to undergo a nationwide installation of LED lighting.
Work is carried out on a small number of car park floors at a time to minimise disruption.
The lights will only come on when people enter a floor.
A spokesman for NCP said: “We became really aware of customer feedback and people were telling us they wanted better lighting.
“It feels better walking into a lit car park. These lights are easy on the eye and almost like daylight.”
The project is being financed through the energy cost savings over time and is in partnership with Future Energy Solutions.
It is the first infrastructure project to qualify for the Government’s UK Guarantee scheme which was launched in 2013.
