A Keighley councillor says he is encouraged by district council floral planting plans to help showcase the district.
Coun Adrian Farley, of Keighley West, was one of the councillors invited to attend a meeting with council officers earlier this week.
“It was to let us know what resources they have and what proposals they are making to plant flowers for the Tour de France and the First World War commemorations,” he said.
“It was a very informative meeting. It’s about civic pride in the district and helping to show what we can offer. It’s particularly important this year when we have something as big as the Tour de France coming here.
“The financial position for the council is difficult, but it is doing its best with what it has.”
He said displays were planned for roundabouts, roadsides, parks and open areas near war memorials.
