A pre-inquest review has been held by a coroner into the death of a Silsden man.
Tony Hopkins, 58, died last October after falling while carrying out maintenance work at an Iceland store in Rotherham.
He was working on an air-conditioning unit in a storage area of the supermarket when the incident occurred on October 28.
Mr Hopkins was taken to Rotherham District General Hospital, but died from his injuries.
Rotherham Borough Council’s environmental health department has been investigating.
A spokesman for the coroner’s office said a hearing had taken place before Doncaster assistant coroner Raymond Curtis.
“The aim was to receive an update and discuss the current position. A full inquest is still to take place on a date to be arranged,” she said.
Following his death, tribute was paid to Mr Hopkins by fellow Silsden residents.
Paul Thompson, former landlord of the Robin Hood pub, said he had known Mr Hopkins since he had moved to Silsden with his partner and their two children about eight years earlier.
"He was one of the nicest, funniest men you could ever meet,” said Mr Thompson.
