A driver and his passenger had to be freed after a collision with another car at a roundabout in Cleckheaton.
The incident, between a Vauxhall Corsa and a Ford Fiesta, happened at 6.10am on Whitehall Road this morning.
The two women in the Corsa escaped unhurt but firefighters had to release the Fiesta's driver who was taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries. Paramedics got his passenger out safely.
Two lanes were closed and rush hour traffic was queueing causing backlog congestion eastbound to the A641 Huddersfield Road.
