Young performers are putting on a show to raise funds for a fellow student travelling to Venezuela to stay with tribal communities.
The show, Razzle Dazzle ’Em, is being staged by Stardom School for Performing Arts in aid of World Challenge.
Sophie Rushworth, 16, aims to raise £4,000 for an expedition to Venezuela with World Challenge, an organisation which runs worldwide expeditions for school groups.
Young people take part in community projects such as farming, improving water supplies and conservation projects.
Sophie will travel to the Amazon Rainforest and will stay with the Yekwana tribe.
“I decided to go on this expedition to give something back to the community and to discover new places and cultures that differ so much from ours,” said Sophie.
The Razzle Dazzle 'Em show, featuring songs from musicals and films, is at the Victoria Theatre, Halifax, from February 28 to March 1. Tickets are on (01422) 351158.
