A duvet which got caught up in overhead power lines caused major rail delays across parts of the Bradford district this morning.
The duvet became entangled in a train, near Keighley railway station, shortly after 7am.
“The train – the 07.01 service from Skipton to Bradford Forster Square – was stationary for some time which caused considerable disruption to services,” said a spokesman for operator Northern Rail.
“The duvet was removed at 07.59 and was untangled from the pantograph on the affected train about 25 minutes later.
“It is something of a mystery as to how the duvet ended up on the overheads in the first place – it is possible it blew there.”
Disruption to services continued until after 10am.
