Half-term got off to a great start in Bradford city centre on Saturday with two hugely popular events to keep children happily entertained.

Hundreds of families flocked to the start of the National Media Museum’s week of fun with Skylanders Swap Force. A series of activities featuring the phenomenally popular computer game characters proved a massive hit with youngsters aged seven to 11 – and their parents of course!

Dozens of Skylander toys are on display and children can dress up in hats, be photographed in Skylands and make a Fire Kraken swap box.

The free event also includes the chance to create an animation and play the latest Skylanders game on Play Station consoles.

A quick stroll across City Park took families to Impressions Gallery for Super Saturday Stop: Photo Journey.

This traditionally creative event, with scissors, glue and a frieze to stick things on, gave youngsters the chance to choose a picture and invent a story to celebrate Bradford’s new adjoining children’s City Library.

Sophie Powell, learning manager in charge of the day, said: “It has been really popular, very successful. It has been really nice to see so many people coming, and sharing, and having a good time together.”
