Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) has bought some state-of-the-art equipment – thanks to a grant from the People’s Postcode Trust.
The £8,000 has been used to help buy a heli-lift for the charity’s new airbase at the Nostell Estate, near Wakefield.
The heli-lift makes it easier for air ambulance crews to move the helicopter from the landing pad to the hangar.
Captain Andy Lister, YAA chief pilot, said: “Our helicopters each weigh around three tonnes, so they are extremely heavy pieces of equipment to move around!
“Having the new heli-lift at Nostell allows us to quickly and safely move the aircraft between the hangar and the landing pad.”
The People’s Postcode Trust is funded by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
