An introduction of a permit scheme by Kirklees Council has seen the number of days of roadworks significantly reduced in Kirklees.
It was introduced in 2012 to benefit road users by aiming to cut down on the amount of disruption caused by roadworks on the busiest roads.
Anyone wanting to carry out works on identified streets has to apply to the council in advance.
Councillor Peter McBride said: “I am delighted to see the real benefits that the implementation of the permit scheme is making for all road users.”
